<i>Quelle folle aventure!</i> Adjective positioning in native French and translated American TV shows and movies

Abstract This paper analyzes adjective positioning in French through the lens of language contact. Though some adjectives are nearly always either before their noun (pre-nominal) or after (post-nominal), others – usually that depict a positive negative value can be found position without any detectable semantic change. Our aim is to investigate possible influence English on these by using corpus native TV media as well translated from English. The categorical pre-nominal pattern might causing higher rate used comparison media. findings indicate shows preference for compared corpus.
